Red Oak Rain Garden
Form and function,
Red Oak Rain Garden welcomes you to campus.
Located on the University of Illinois' Urbana campus, the Red Oak Rain Garden is a 10,000 square foot green infrastructure demonstration site that educates the public about sustainable garden design and exemplary rainwater management. It is also a venue for public workshops and events. Illinois Extension/Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant staff direct and manage the garden. Champaign County Master Gardeners, East Central Illinois Master Naturalists, and student groups and classes volunteer in the garden to provide a source of relaxation and continuing education for our community and visitors. RORG inspires and informs many of the potential benefits of rainscaping education program demonstration gardens. Apply these nature-based solutions to your own landscape.
